Day Trip April 30 – Scheveningen

Finally, the day had arrived: on Saturday, April 30, the teenagers from Anderscoachen got to spend a day aboard the Eendracht, sailing on the North Sea.

Four enthusiastic teens (Gijs, Milou, Fien, and Juune) joined along with their supervisors. Everyone was curious to see who would show they really had “sea legs.”

After about half an hour of sailing, Juune and Esther spotted a seal swimming by – so cool! But once we were out at sea, the wind started picking up: force 4. The downside was that Gijs and Juune felt a little queasy in their stomachs/head. Fien and Milou, however, weren’t affected and helped enthusiastically with hoisting the sails.

Despite the rocking of the ship, Gijs and Juune even took turns at the helm – very impressive! It was fascinating to see a three-masted ship in action on the open sea.

The teenagers and supervisors had an amazing day, made possible by the captain and the friendly volunteers on board. A huge thank you to them!
