Most Eendracht crew members are only active on board the Eendracht for a few weeks each year. It is therefore unreasonable to expect that, when returning on board for a new voyage, you will know the exact location of all firefighting and safety equipment or be fully familiar with your duties as outlined in the emergency station bill.
For this reason, all crew members are required to complete a familiarisation round on board the vessel every year, or whenever more than three months have passed since their last time on board.
Experience has shown that a single familiarisation round is often not sufficient to retain all this information. That is why we now offer everyone the opportunity to complete an additional virtual familiarisation tour from home.
