Your adventure begins in spectacular style in Bordeaux, where the opening of The Tall Ships Races 2027 coincides with the world-famous Bordeaux Fête le Vin. Surrounded by dozens of magnificent tall ships, thousands of visitors and crews from around the world, you’ll step aboard the Eendracht for the first race leg to A Coruña on Spain’s Atlantic coast.

What can you expect?
A genuine offshore race
Once the starting signal has been given, we leave the Gironde Estuary behind and set course for the Bay of Biscay. From that moment on, the wind and the weather set the pace. You’ll stand watch, take the helm, trim the sails and work together with your watch to get the very best performance from both ship and crew. Every nautical mile counts as you race alongside other impressive tall ships towards the finish in A Coruña.
Life on board
During The Tall Ships Races, life on board follows our four hours on, eight hours off watch system. While on watch, you’ll be actively involved in sailing the ship, assisting in the galley and helping with the daily tasks that keep life on board running smoothly.
When you’re off watch, there’s time to relax, enjoy meals together, swap stories with your fellow voyagers and simply experience the unique rhythm of life at sea. It’s this balance between challenge and relaxation that makes the voyage so rewarding.

Travelling to Bordeaux
By train
Sit back, relax and travel comfortably by train from Rotterdam to Bordeaux. If you book early, tickets are often available from around €35.

Travelling home from A Coruña
By air
After the voyage, you can travel home from A Coruña via Santiago de Compostela Airport, which is easily reached by train from A Coruña.
