My booking
How does the booking process work?
After completing the booking form, the main booker will receive a confirmation by email within a few working days. This confirmation includes the General Terms and Conditions, a medical declaration form (for multi-day voyages), a packing list (for multi-day voyages), and general travel documents (for multi-day voyages). These forms must be completed and returned no later than 14 days after the booking has been made.
Prior to the trip
Approximately one week before departure, the final travel information will be sent to the main booker, including directions to the berth. No physical tickets will be issued. Upon arrival on board, you must present a valid travel document (passport or ID card); a driver’s license is not sufficient.
Payment options
Bookings can only be made online. Payment can be made directly via iDEAL, credit card, or Bancontact. Additionally, we now offer the option to pay via In3 (part of iDEAL), allowing you to settle the total invoice in three installments.
Plan your next sailing adventure with the Eendracht and enjoy a hassle-free booking experience with flexible payment options!

Due to the limited space in the cabins, we recommend bringing your luggage in a duffel bag, sports bag, or sailing bag. Hard-shell suitcases are often less practical in ship cabins. Don’t forget to bring your passport or ID card, and make sure your travel document is valid before departure.

On board
How is the watch system organized on board?
Sailing on the Eendracht is an active and engaging experience. During multi-day voyages, all participants are expected to take part in daily tasks on board. You join your watchmates as a full crew member in the watch system: four hours on duty, eight hours off.
During your watch, duties extend beyond sailing and include steering, navigation, cleaning, and assisting in the galley. The professional crew consists of a few paid staff, but the ship is largely manned by volunteers with the necessary training and certifications. No prior sailing experience is required, as the crew will explain everything you need to know.
The red, white, and blue watches rotate according to the following schedule:
- 00:00 – 04:00: Dog Watch
- 04:00 – 08:00: Day Watch
- 08:00 – 12:00: Morning Watch
- 12:00 – 16:00: Afternoon Watch
- 16:00 – 18:00: First Short Watch
- 18:00 – 20:00: Second Short Watch
- 20:00 – 24:00: First Watch
Upon arrival, you will be assigned to a watch. Cabin mates are placed in the same watch, and each watch is led by a quartermaster, your main point of contact on board.
The quartermaster assigns the following duties:
- Two lookouts: Inform the helmsman of anything observed at sea.
- Helmsman: Ensures the ship stays on course.
- Sail handling: Hoisting, lowering, reefing, tacking, and trimming sails.
- Other tasks: Assisting in the galley, cleaning, safety rounds, and helping during meals.
The aim is for everyone to enjoy a memorable sailing holiday and leave with a wealth of new experiences. By the end of the voyage, you will feel completely at home on board. During your watch, there is also ample time for additional instruction and learning new skills.
What does the interior of the ship look like?
Below Deck
The below deck of the sailing ship Eendracht offers comfortable accommodation thanks to an intelligent layout and modifications in the engine room. By placing the dayroom on the main deck, continuous accommodation has been created beneath it, divided into five watertight compartments.
In total, there are 23 cabins on board:
- 15 double cabins
- 6 quadruple cabins
- 2 single cabins
This amounts to a total of 56 bunks, 38 of which are available for guests. Each cabin is equipped with hot and cold running water, air conditioning, ample storage space, a clothesline, and a porthole. Showers and toilets are located in each compartment, conveniently close to the cabins along the corridor.
The below deck also provides access to:
- The engine room
- The bosun’s workshop
- The laundry
- (Dry) storage cupboards and additional storage spaces
Above Deck
On the main deck, you’ll find the cozy dayroom and the galley, where complimentary coffee, tea, and tap water are available. The dayroom serves as the central meeting place for everyone on board and is also where meals are served.
At the aft of the deck, you’ll find the ‘tea garden,’ a comfortable area with benches where you can relax, read, and, in good weather, enjoy meals outdoors.
Summary
The sailing ship Eendracht offers excellent facilities both above and below deck. Whether you’re enjoying the comfortable cabins with modern amenities or relaxing in the dayroom and tea garden, life on board the Eendracht combines comfort with adventure. 10 tips to prevent seasickness
- Choose a large ship
The larger the vessel, the more stable it is, and the less likely you are to experience seasickness. On the Eendracht, you’re in good hands! At nearly 60 metres in length, we fall into the category of “Tall Ships” – some of the largest sailing vessels in the world.
- Take advice from a doctor
During a voyage on the Eendracht, a ship’s doctor is always on board. They can help you find the most suitable method to prevent or alleviate seasickness. Your own doctor or pharmacist can also provide guidance on this.
- Board well-prepared
Ensure you arrive well-rested and bring sufficient warm clothing, which can help reduce the effects of seasickness. Check our packing list to make sure you never forget essential items for your trip.
- Medication
Visit your pharmacy before departure. Better safe than sorry. Simple travel pills are usually sufficient!
- Stay hydrated
Drink plenty of fluids during the voyage. Proper hydration reduces the likelihood of seasickness. To prevent nausea, it is advisable to minimise consumption of alcoholic beverages, coffee, carbonated drinks, and fruit juices.
- Ginger
Consume some ginger approximately 12 to 24 hours before your trip. Research has shown that ginger can be an effective remedy against seasickness and nausea.
- Eat light meals
Have a light meal before departure; sailing on an empty stomach is not recommended. Options include oatmeal, toast, or crackers. If you are prone to nausea, avoid heavy, greasy, or spicy foods before and during the voyage.
- Focus on your surroundings
Keep your eyes on the horizon to allow your inner ear and balance system to adjust to the motion of the ship.
- Cotton trick
Another effective method is to insert a small cotton wad in one ear. If you are right-handed, use your left ear, and vice versa. The same principle applies to seasickness patches.
- Choose the right spot on the ship
If you feel nauseous, stay outside in the fresh air, away from the engine room. Preferably, stand on deck in the centre of the vessel and move with the ship’s motion. If you still want to participate in activities, standing at the helm can be a suitable and engaging option!
