230606 – Zeilreis van Aarhus naar Scheveningen (The Ocean Race)

The Ocean Race, één van de grootste zeilevenementen van de wereld. Een race die wordt beschouwd als een van de zwaarste. Spectaculaire scheepsontwerpen, activiteiten voor jong en oud. Wij zijn erbij. We starten in Aarhus, op Kopenhagen na de grootste stad van Denemarken, waar The Ocean Race haar vijfde leg zal starten. De schepen zullen eerst richting het Kielerfjord gaan om vervolgens weer terug omhoog koers te zetten naar Scheveningen.

En ook wij gooien de trossen los om koers te zetten naar Scheveningen. Wie weet komen de schepen nog met 35 nm even een fly-bye doen en anders zullen wij de bemanning en het Ocean Race spektakel in Scheveningen wederom begroeten. Beleef leg 5 van The Ocean Race van dichtbij en stap aan boord!

HET LEVEN AAN BOORD

Je wordt welkom geheten door onze professionele en grotendeels vrijwillige bemanningsleden. Vervolgens is er alle tijd om je tas uit te pakken en de hut in te richten. De koffie en thee staan klaar en de schipper houdt zijn welkomstwoord. Ook wordt er een veiligheidsinstructie gegeven en maak je kennis met jouw medereizigers. Zodra je aan boord stapt is het optimaal genieten. Niet alleen van de gezellige sfeer en de mooie uitzichten, ook kom je tijdens deze reis niks te kort. Onze scheepskok bereidt de lekkerste maaltijden voor alle opvarenden. Deze reis is volpension, dus ontbijt, lunch en diner zijn inbegrepen.

Dit is inbegrepen bij je zeilvakantie in

• Beddengoed;
• Volpension (ontbijt, lunch en diner);
• Onbeperkt koffie, thee en fruit;
• Indeling in een 2- of 4-persoonshut;
• Bij jouw boeking kan je aangeven of je gebruik wilt maken van een kooi in een 2- of 4-persoonshut, mits beschikbaar. Houdt hierbij rekening met verschillende prijsklassen. De jongeren die de jongerenprijs betalen hebben deze keuze niet.
• Liever een hut alleen? Ook dat is mogelijk. Hiervoor geldt een toeslag van 50% van de boordprijs p.p. voor een tweepersoonshut. Let op: beperkte beschikbaarheid.

Dit is niet inbegrepen

• Transfer van en naar het schip.
• Eventuele excursies tijdens de reis.
• Reisverzekering, die is echter VERPLICHT.
• Annuleringsverzekering, die wordt aanbevolen.
• Drankjes van de bar en souvenirs.

Reisinformatie

Aan boord draai je mee in het wachtsysteem van ‘4 uur op en 8 uur af’, zodat het schip dag en nacht kan zeilen. Bij elke wacht horen verschillende taken, zoals: schoonmaken en assisteren in het kombuis, hijsen, strijken en trimmen van de zeilen, helpen bij het overstag gaan, achter het roer staan en helpen bij de navigatie. Leer zeilen en vorm samen met je wacht een hecht team. Ervaring is niet nodig, want je bent onderdeel van een professionele crew. Onze bemanning leert je graag alles over het reilen en zeilen aan boord van de Eendracht. Buiten de wacht om is er alle tijd om te ontspannen en te genieten van de zee.

230606 – Sailing from Aarhus (DK) to Scheveningen (NL) – The Ocean Race

The Ocean Race, one of the biggest sailing events in the world. A race that is considered one of the toughest. Spectacular ship designs, activities for young and old. We are there. We start in Aarhus, the second largest city in Denmark after Copenhagen, where The Ocean Race will start its fifth leg. The ships will first head towards the Kielerfjord and then set course back up to Scheveningen.

And we also throw the bunches loose to set course for Scheveningen. Who knows, maybe the ships will do a fly-bye at 35 nm and otherwise we will greet the crew in Scheveningen again. Experience this spectacle and step on board!

Life on board

You will be welcomed by our professional and mainly voluntary crew members. The crew will guide you to your cabin where you will have the time to unpack and set up your cabin. Once everybody has checked in the voyage will start with a welcome and safety briefing from the captain. You will be introduced to the crew and your fellow crew mates. As soon as you step on board, you can enjoy it to the fullest. Not only the cozy atmosphere and the beautiful views, but also culinary, you will not be short during this trip. Our ship’s cook prepares the tastiest meals for all those on board. This trip is full board, so breakfast, lunch and dinner are included.

• Bed linen
• Full board (breakfast, lunch and dinner)
• Unlimited coffee, tea and fruit
• Layout in a 2 or 4 person cabin
• When booking you can indicate whether you want to use a cabin in a 2- or 4-person cabin, if available. Take into account the different price ranges. People who pay the youth price do not have this choice.
• Prefer a cabin alone? This is also possible. There is a surcharge of 50% of the p.p.p. on-board price for a double cabin. Please note: limited availability.

This is not included:

• Transfer from and to the ship
• Any excursions during the trip
• Travel insurance, MANDATORY
• Cancellation insurance, recommended
• Drinks from the bar and souvenirs

It is possible to pay by card on board.

Voyage information

On board, you will participate in a 4 hours on, 8 hours off watch system. In this way the ship can sail day and night. Each watch has different duties such as; steering the ship, lookout duties, various sail handling operations like setting, trimming and taking in sails. Small cleaning tasks and assisting in the galley are also part of the job! Learn to sail and form a close team with your watch. Sailing experience is not required as the professional crew on board will introduce you in all the aspects of sailing! Our crew is happy to teach you everything about the ins and outs on board of the Eendracht. When not on watch, there is plenty of time to relax and enjoy the sea.
