Thousands of Duckies “Race” for Charity on 12 July 2025
Rotterdam – On 12 July 2025, Rotterdam will host the very first edition of the Duck Rally, a unique and splash-filled charity event at the Zevenhuizerplas. Organized by the Rotterdam Charity Club, this spectacular rubber duck race will see thousands of duckies take to the water in support of three charitable causes. The net proceeds will benefit the Giovanni van Bronckhorst Foundation, Stichting Zeilschip Eendracht, and the Rare Diseases Fund (ZZF).
Buy Your Duckie and Support a Good Cause
Everyone can now purchase their own “Duckie” via www.duckrally.nl for €10 and take part in the race. Each duck is assigned a unique code and competes for fantastic prizes. By buying a Duckie, participants directly support vulnerable young people, children affected by rare diseases, and initiatives that promote personal development for young people, patients, and the elderly.
A Day of Spectacle and Entertainment for All Ages
The Duck Rally promises to be a festive event for families and the business community alike. Alongside the thrilling duck race, visitors can enjoy multiple event areas featuring entertainment, live performances, great food, and activities for both young and old. Supporting Three Inspiring Charities
- Giovanni van Bronckhorst Foundation – Through its S.V. GIO program, the foundation has been empowering children since 2012 to become leaders of their own future.
- Stichting Zeilschip Eendracht – Dedicated to supporting (vulnerable) young people, patients, and the elderly by quite literally giving them “the wind in their sails.”
- Rare Diseases Fund (ZZF) – Supports research into rare diseases and organizes peer-support days for children affected by rare conditions.
Educational Program for Schools: “Together, You’re Not on Your Own”
Beyond the event itself, Duck Rally 2025 places a strong focus on education. A special educational program has been developed for schools under the theme “Together, You’re Not on Your Own.” The program teaches children about the importance of charity, collaboration, and social responsibility through interactive assignments, a creative coloring activity, and reflective exercises that encourage students to think about causes they care about. In this way, the Duck Rally inspires the next generation to contribute to a better society and brings charitable causes closer to young people.
