The Zeilschip Eendracht Foundation is looking for a Crew Manager with energy, strong social skills, and a knack for organisation. We are a non-profit organisation on a mission to give people of all ages the opportunity to experience the thrill of sailing at sea. Whether it’s a day trip on the River Maas, an active sailing holiday, a youth voyage, or a team-building trip, everyone feels at home on board the Eendracht.
With over 300 enthusiastic volunteers, 13 permanent crew members, and a small, friendly office team of six colleagues, we keep our ship moving—both literally and figuratively. We are now looking for someone like you: a versatile social organiser who ensures that everything runs smoothly!
What will you be doing?
As Crew Manager, you ensure that the Eendracht sails smoothly with the right people in the right roles. You are central to recruiting, selecting, scheduling, and retaining crew members. No two days are the same, as you balance maintaining an overview with responding to unexpected situations. During interviews, you can quickly determine whether someone is the perfect fit for our team.
- Recruit and select crew members, both volunteers and permanent staff.
- Support and advise the Ship Manager on crew-related matters.
- Manage the crew schedule and handle incoming emails.
- Organise and coordinate training sessions for the crew.
- Book transfers for crew members.
- Maintain and update the crew website.
Who are we looking for?
You are sociable, organised, and energised by working with people. In addition, you possess:
- At least HBO-level education or equivalent thinking and working level.
- Experience in crew management is a plus.
- Strong communication skills in both Dutch and English.
- An affinity for volunteer work and alignment with our mission.
- Residence in or near Rotterdam.
- High empathy and the ability to inspire and motivate others.
- Accuracy, proactivity, and strong organisational skills.
