The Zeilschip Eendracht Foundation is looking for an Engineer/(H)WTK for a part-time position spanning 4 to 5 months per year (spread throughout the year).
The mission of the Zeilschip Eendracht Foundation is to maximise the use of the Eendracht for young people, allowing them to actively experience all aspects of life at sea. The vessel is maintained and operated by a team of permanent staff and 300 dedicated volunteers.
Within our team of permanent engineers, we are seeking an enthusiastic colleague who, in addition to performing all standard tasks, enjoys explaining the technical aspects of the ship to our guests.
What will you be doing?
- You manage the technical installations and equipment necessary for life and work on board, ensuring a hygienic and comfortable working and living environment.
- You ensure safe operational practices.
- You maintain technical records and ensure timely ordering of supplies.
- You oversee the efficient use of technical consumables, spare parts, fuel, lubricants, and water on board.
- You ensure that there is always sufficient fuel and drinking water on board and advise the skipper on refuelling times and the disposal of waste oil.
- You report unsafe situations and assist with safety drills.

- You have a technically relevant education.
- You are capable of independently performing maintenance and repairs on technical installations.
- You have relevant work experience.
- You are sociable and approachable.
- You hold a valid maritime medical certificate.
- You are eager to learn.
- You are at least 18 years old.
